Iron Sharpens Iron

12 Dec

Iron sharpens iron,
and one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17)

This last term I have seen this truth worked out first hand. What a blessing it has been to live with 5 other godly men with the same priorities. I never cease to be amazed that while we have such different opinions on many things, when it comes to the basics – a desire to see people saved, complete trust in a mighty Saviour, a passion for holiness etc. – there is nothing better than being under the watchful eye of dear brothers.

Give thanks to God for Christian friends. Praise God when they rebuke you in love. Rejoice with them when they rejoice and mourn as they mourn. It’s fair to say that there are few secrets in our house and what a blessing it is to be able to share with one antoher and carry each others burdens as members of one body. Above all, look forward with great expectation to an eterninty together in Glory.
